We believe that God created the world and everything in it, out of nothing, in six consecutive 24-hour periods of time. We believe that Genesis 1-3 are to be interpreted literally. Therefore, we reject any interpretation of these chapters that view them symbolically, metaphorically, or as a literary framework. We reject long days, gaps, or progressive creationism. To translate Genesis 1-3 other than through a literal, grammatical, historical hermeneutic does damage to the whole of Scripture as well, requiring the reader to perform interpretive gymnastics that make understanding the Bible ultimately impossible.

Additionally, Genesis 1-3 are not the only places in Scripture that clearly state that God created everything. Here is a list of other passages that clearly point to the fact that God created everything.
